ZHIYUN FIVERAY M40 40W Bi-Color Portable LED Video Light
Our Verdict
I recently integrated the ZHIYUN FIVERAY M40 into my mobile production kit to see if a light this small could actually replace heavier gear. After putting the FIVERAY M40 through several outdoor shoots, I was genuinely surprised by how much output it manages to pack into such a compact frame.
Performance & Build Quality
The build quality feels remarkably sturdy, utilizing a clever DynaVort cooling system that keeps the unit temperature stable even during extended sessions. The inclusion of FOC fans ensures that the hardware remains protected without creating excessive noise, demonstrating a thoughtful approach to engineering.
Day-to-Day Experience
Using the dual-wheel control system is incredibly intuitive, allowing me to switch between color temperatures and brightness levels without fumbling through complex menus. The PD fast charging is a massive advantage, effectively eliminating downtime by getting me back to full power significantly faster than standard USB solutions.
This light is perfect for vloggers, travel photographers, and videographers who prioritize weight and space without wanting to compromise on professional lighting intensity.
Final Thoughts
The ZHIYUN FIVERAY M40 earns its impressive 4.91 rating by delivering consistent, reliable performance in a package that fits in your jacket pocket. While there are many options on the market, the $199.00 price point combined with its robust cooling and versatility makes it a standout choice for 2026.
